 Generation
The overriding principle of generating electricity at Oberbruch Industry Park is to ensure the highest possible availability and safety at competitive prices. This is achieved via a twin-track system. Depending on availability and cost factors, every medium-voltage consumer can be supplied with electricity via an on-site generator or, alternatively, can switch to the public grid.
The on-site generating plant guarantees optimal use of fuel through cogeneration (joint production of steam and electricity).
Quality
Two voltages are available at Oberbruch:
Distribution
Electricity is supplied direct to the customer’s production site.
It is distributed via 52 transformers in 13 transformer stations.
Availability
Customers with higher requirements in terms of power quality will receive energy from the on-site generating plant so as to avoid any intermittent breaks in supply.
This avoids the short electricity cuts that frequently occur in the public grid during thunderstorms, storms or switching operations.
